Project Objective:

Proporcionar tratamientos médico oftalmológico mediante cirugías a personas que sufren discapacidades físicas visuales mediante la adquisición de un microscopio para cirugías de retina.

Provide ophthalmological medical treatments through surgery to people suffering from visual physical disabilities by acquiring a microscope for retinal surgeries.

Community Assessment:

Las necesidades de atención médica oftalmológica fueron identificadas a través de un proceso participativo con validación médica mediante la participación en 50 reuniones semanales a lo largo del año donde se involucran directivos de la institución beneficiada donde se da seguimiento a sus actividades y corroborando la atención brindada a la comunidad; quienes presentan incidencias altas en patologías oftalmológicas que no son atendidos por los organismos públicos de salud al no ser consideradas urgencias médicas sus necesidades.

The needs for ophthalmologic medical care were identified through a participatory process with medical validation, carried out through participation in 50 weekly meetings throughout the year. These meetings involved the management staff of the beneficiary institution, where activities were monitored and the care provided to the community was verified. The community presents a high incidence of ophthalmologic pathologies that are not treated by public health institutions because they are not considered medical emergencies.

Gestión de colaboraciones, adquisición del microscopio para cirugía de retina y oftalmología, capacitación y puesta a punto del equipo, realización de procedimientos quirúrgicos oftalmológicos.

Management of collaborations, acquisition of the microscope for retina and ophthalmology surgery, training and setup of the team, performance of ophthalmic surgical procedures.

Direct Beneficiaries:

De acuerdo a la estadística presentada por el benefactor, se estima beneficiar directamente a 4500 pacientes directamente, e indirectamente a 13500 personas quienes pueden reincorporarse a sus actividades habituales al no requerir apoyo para atender al paciente operado en su cuidado diario.

According to the statistics presented by the benefactor, it is estimated that 4,500 patients will benefit directly, and 13,500 people will benefit indirectly, as they can return to their usual activities without requiring support to care for the operated patient on a daily basis.

Sustainability:

La institución receptora del microscopio cuenta con 35 años de servicio quienes gestionan los recursos financieros y humanos de acuerdo a los servicios que brindan de manera altruista coadyuvados de cuotas de recuperación que los pacientes cubren. Se brindan informes de actividades y financieros a las personas que así lo soliciten además de asistir constantemente a constatar sus servicios.

The institution receiving the microscope has 35 years of experience managing its financial and human resources according to the services it provides altruistically, supplemented by patient fees. Activity and financial reports are provided upon request, and the institution regularly visits to monitor its services.

Se colabora directamente con asociaciones y fundaciones afines como son Fundación Carlos Slim, Asociación Ale, Fundación Cinepolis, Gobiernos Estatales y Municipales cercanos, Universidades como la Autónoma de Aguascalientes, Cuauhtémoc y UNEA brindan prestadores de servicio social y Clubes Rotarios locales, regionales e internacionales.

Evaluation and Monitoring:

Se atenderán a 4500 pacientes mediante realización de alguna cirugía oftalmológica, monitoreando avances semanales y mensuales.

4500 patients will be treated by performing some type of ophthalmological surgery, monitoring weekly and monthly progress.
