Objetivo del Proyecto:

The acquisition of the Electromyography equipment for the Teletón Children's Rehabilitation Center (CRIT) will allow specialized diagnoses for children with different types of disabilities, which will improve the therapeutic planning for more than half of the 1,050 families currently served by the center. This will have a strong positive financial impact by saving costs from replacing expensive external services with in-house equipment, and it will also provide external patients with the specialized service offered by this equipment at competitive prices, increasing the project's self-sustainability.

Evaluación de Necesidades:

Currently, CRIT attends to its young patients by outsourcing the electromyography service externally, with the resulting cost this entails, in addition to the longer waiting times this means for patients. This equipment will allow more than half of the 1,050 families that the center currently serves annually to be attended, as well as being able to offer the service to patients outside the center at a more affordable cost than what is currently available on the market.

Diseño del Proyecto:

This request was designed in collaboration with CRIT, aiming to carry out a global grant to acquire the equipment that has the greatest social benefit impact under the current conditions of the rehabilitation center and the type of patients mostly treated, concluding that an electromyography machine would have the most favorable impact on the health of the center's regular patients. The current medical staff who will operate this equipment model are already properly trained for its correct use and utilization, and the quotation includes installation, preventive maintenance, a one-year warranty, and lifetime remote support.

Beneficiarios:

It is estimated that this equipment will positively impact more than half of the 1,050 families currently served at the Teletón Children's Rehabilitation Center, as well as over 500 additional external families per year through diagnoses for outpatients at more competitive costs, in line with the CRIT's social mission.

Sostenibilidad:

The acquisition of the equipment will save CRIT patients the cost of approximately 1,320 external studies annually, at an average cost of $3,500 pesos each, that is, $4,620,000 pesos (US $25,667). These patients are provided with the service at a symbolic fee or even free, depending on their socioeconomic assessment, but the service can also be offered to external patients outside of CRIT. It is estimated at a price of less than $1,900 pesos per study (US $106), which will benefit even more people and provide additional income for CRIT that can be reinvested in care for more patients and in the maintenance of the equipment.

1) Number of studies conducted per year
2) Number of CRIT patients who received better preventive treatment per year
3) Number of external beneficiaries with access to specialized studies at a better cost per year
